Welcome back to Reviews inside tv! Thanks for tuning in. Today, we’re diving into the world of robotic cleaning with the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. This is a robot vacuum and mop combo that’s packing some serious features, from auto mopping and water drainage to a powerful 10000Pa suction. It promises a hands-free cleaning experience, but does it live up to the hype? Let’s find out.
The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra comes loaded with an array of features designed to make cleaning as effortless as possible. The star of the show is its All-in-One RockDock Ultra, which includes automatic mop washing and drying. The dock not only refills and drains the water, but also dispenses detergent, ensuring that you don’t need to manually add detergent each time. Its 580ml detergent tank lasts up to three months on a single fill. On top of that, the mop is cleaned and dried with hot air to prevent any musty odors. Auto dust emptying and Auto Tank Refilling make for an incredibly low-maintenance experience, so you can focus on other things while the robot does the heavy lifting. The FlexiArm Design side brush helps it clean those tricky corners and hard-to-reach areas under furniture. And with 10000Pa suction combined with a DuoRoller Riser Brush, this vacuum ensures that dirt and dust are gone in one pass, while reducing hair tangles.
In terms of real-world usage, setting up the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is incredibly straightforward. It connects easily to the app, where you can control all its features, from setting schedules to customizing cleaning modes. The smart dirt detection feature is something that really stands out – the robot knows when to rewash the mop if it’s too dirty, ensuring your floors get a thorough clean. One thing that might be a bit of a learning curve, however, is the video call and cruise feature. You can connect remotely and even check in on your home while you’re away. It’s great for pet owners, but not essential for everyone.
So, let’s talk about the pros and cons. Starting with the pros, Roborock has done a fantastic job with auto mop washing & drying, which means you don’t have to worry about cleaning the mop after every use. The 10000Pa suction is excellent, providing strong cleaning power on both carpets and hard floors. The FlexiArm brush design is also a nice touch, reaching under furniture where most robots would miss. However, there are a couple of cons worth noting. While the auto water refilling feature is convenient, the dock can be bulky, taking up valuable space. The video calling feature might not be necessary for everyone, and for some, it could feel a bit like a gimmick. Additionally, the robot might struggle a bit with very large rooms without multiple docking stations.
Now, when we consider the value for money, the S8 MaxV Ultra definitely sits at the higher end of the market, but its features seem to justify the price tag. The convenience of having automatic mop washing, drying, and water refilling, combined with impressive suction power and dirt detection, is hard to beat. However, if you’re looking for something more budget-friendly, there are alternatives like the Ecovacs Deebot X1 that offer similar suction power and some smart features at a lower price point.
In terms of build quality, the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra feels premium. The materials used are sturdy, and the vacuum has a solid, well-constructed feel. It’s clear that Roborock has invested in longevity. Although I haven’t had it long enough for long-term testing, based on its design and features, I’m confident it will hold up well over time.
As for customer support, I didn’t need to reach out personally, but Roborock has a solid reputation for responsive customer service. They’re known for offering quick solutions and being generally helpful when issues arise, which is always reassuring when purchasing a product of this caliber.
If you’re wondering whether there are better alternatives out there, the iRobot Roomba Combo j7+ is worth considering. It offers impressive vacuuming and mopping functionality, though it lacks some of the Roborock’s advanced features, like the FlexiArm brush and the auto mop washing. It’s a solid competitor but doesn’t match the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra in terms of innovation and all-around performance.
To wrap things up, the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is an impressive piece of technology that brings a level of convenience and efficiency to home cleaning. With its high suction power, smart features, and auto mop washing system, it’s a solid choice for anyone looking to automate their cleaning. That said, it’s best suited for those who want the ultimate in convenience and don’t mind paying a premium for it.
