Welcome to Reviews Inside TV, where we dive deep into the latest and greatest in tech, home gadgets, and more. Today, we’re talking about the Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop, a product that combines both vacuuming and mopping in one sleek, modern design. This device promises ultra-powerful suction and sonic mopping, which could revolutionize your cleaning routine. Let’s break it down and see if it really delivers on its bold claims.

The Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop is designed to tackle both hard floors and carpets with ease. It features Sonic Mopping technology, scrubbing hard floors 100 times per minute, and Matrix Clean, which promises 30% better carpet cleaning. Additionally, it comes with HEPA filtration and an anti-allergen seal, trapping 99.97% of dust and allergens. The vacuum is equipped with a self-emptying base that holds up to 60 days of dirt, meaning you won’t have to empty the dustbin frequently. The robot also uses 360° LiDAR vision to map your home for precision cleaning, even around corners and edges, thanks to its CleanEdge Detect system. For homes with pets, the self-cleaning brushroll ensures hair doesn’t get tangled and debris is easily picked up.

In terms of real-world use, the Shark Matrix Plus performed admirably in my testing. Setting it up was fairly straightforward. The WiFi connectivity was seamless, and the app made scheduling and controlling the vacuum easy. During the first test, I was impressed by its ability to clean both carpet and hard floors in one pass. The sonic mopping action left my floors sparkling, and I found that it worked exceptionally well on removing stuck-on stains, especially when I activated the Matrix Mop feature in the app. The vacuum was able to cover large areas quickly, and I didn’t have to worry about it getting stuck or missing spots. The self-emptying feature is a major bonus – it worked as advertised, and I didn’t have to touch the dustbin for weeks.

However, it’s not without its drawbacks. The suction power is solid, but if you have extremely thick carpets, it might not have the deep-cleaning power you’d expect from a traditional vacuum. While the CleanEdge technology improved edge cleaning significantly, I still found some debris near corners that required a quick touch-up. Also, while the self-cleaning brushroll is great for picking up hair, it’s not foolproof. After a few uses, I noticed a bit of hair wrapping around the brushroll, though it was easy to clean out manually.

Let’s talk about the pros and cons. On the plus side, the Shark Matrix Plus is incredibly convenient, with its self-emptying base and the ability to mop and vacuum in one go. The HEPA filtration is excellent for homes with allergies, and the mapping system ensures that it covers your home thoroughly. The sonic mopping system does a great job on hard floors, and the self-cleaning brushroll is a nice touch for pet owners. On the downside, the suction could be stronger for deep carpet cleaning, and the edge cleaning, while improved, still isn’t perfect. The price point may also be a concern for some, as it’s on the higher end of the robot vacuum spectrum.

As for value for money, this robot does pack a lot of features, but it’s important to consider what you’re looking for. If you need a vacuum that can handle both mopping and vacuuming with minimal effort, this is a solid choice. However, if you’re just looking for a vacuum with exceptional suction power for carpets, there are alternatives that might offer more suction for less money.

Comparing the Shark Matrix Plus with other robots in its category, it stands out for its combination of mopping and vacuuming, which few models offer at this level of efficiency. Models like the Roomba Combo j7+ or Ecovacs Deebot X1 also combine vacuuming and mopping but can be pricier and may lack some of the Shark’s edge-cleaning technology. In terms of value, the Shark Matrix Plus offers a balanced mix of features for the price, making it competitive in its category.

Build quality seems robust – the vacuum feels solid, and the materials used are durable. The self-emptying base is substantial and doesn’t feel cheap. While long-term reliability data is scarce, the design and functionality give me confidence in its durability. However, as with any robot vacuum, wear and tear over time might affect performance, especially with the brushroll and suction power.

Regarding customer support, I haven’t had to reach out to Shark for any issues, but the brand generally has a good reputation for support and warranty service. If past experiences are any indication, you can expect prompt responses if you run into any issues.

There are cheaper alternatives if you’re looking to save a bit of money. While they may not offer all the advanced features of the Shark Matrix Plus, models like the Eufy RoboVac G30 or Wyze Robot Vacuum provide good suction and smart mapping for less money, although they lack the sonic mopping function.

To wrap things up, the Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop is a strong contender in the robotic cleaning space, offering solid performance, especially for those with hard floors and pets. It does a great job mopping and vacuuming, with convenient self-emptying and good edge cleaning. While it may not be perfect for deep carpet cleaning or corner debris, it’s a solid all-around performer that will save you time and effort. If you value convenience and a well-rounded cleaning experience, it’s a worthwhile investment.
